Minnesota failed to follow that up though, sparking a four-game losing skid with a 4-0 defeat to Dallas that was followed by a 7-2 loss to the Stars, a 4-3 overtime defeat to Philadelphia, and a 6-0 shutout loss to Arizona.
The Wild brought an end to that losing run on Monday night as they beat the New York Islanders 5-0, but they immediately returned to losing ways with a 7-3 defeat in Tampa last night.

Florida enter this matchup looking to snap a three-game losing run and get their playoff push back on track.
The Panthers ended 2023 and began 2024 on a red-hot run of form that saw them win nine consecutive games.
That streak started with a 4-3 win over Vegas just before Christmas, and that proved to be no fluke as they went to ‘Sin City’ and knocked off the Golden Knights, 4-1, on January 4.
Florida’s run reached nine games with a 3-2 overtime victory over Los Angeles on January 11, but they lost their next game and have been unable to bounce back.
The Panthers’ streak was halted by a 4-1 loss to New Jersey, which was followed by overtime defeats to Anaheim, 5-4, and Detroit, 3-2.
Verdict
Florida's form has cooled off in recent days, so a meeting with out-of-form Minnesota could prove to be great timing for the Panthers.
