New Jersey enter tonight's matchup in hit-or-miss form, having gone 4-3 in their previous seven games.
The Devils dropped back-to-back games to start the second half of March, losing 4-1 in Arizona and 3-1 at Vegas, but rebounded with a couple of home wins.
They beat Pittsburgh 5-2 and Winnipeg 4-1, but failed to make it three wins in a row as they then lost 5-2 to Ottawa.
New Jersey went out on the road and rebounded immediately, winning 4-0 at the New York Islanders and 6-3 in Toronto.
The Devils failed to make it three wins in a row though, as they fell to a 5-2 defeat when they visited Buffalo, and that was followed by a 6-3 defeat to Pittsburgh last night.
New York Rangers Form
New York come into this game on the back of a loss, but in good form with 10 wins in their last 13 games.
The Rangers began this sequence with three straight wins at home, beating St Louis 4-0, New Jersey 3-1 and Carolina 1-0.
They then rebounded from a 6-3 defeat in Tampa with a 7-4 victory at Pittsburgh and a 5-2 win at home to the New York Islanders.
New York lost to 4-2 to Winnipeg next, but they responded by winning five straight games, beating Boston 5-2, Florida 4-3 (SO), Philadelphia 6-5 (OT), Colorado 3-2 (SO) and Arizona 8-5.
The Rangers were unable to take that streak to six games however, as they were beaten 5-2 at home by Pittsburgh.
Verdict
New York have dominated New Jersey this season, and that trend is likely to continue in tonight's meeting.
