New York kept that win streak going in the opening game of this series with Washington, easing to a 4-1 win over the Capitals.
The visitors put up more of a fight in the second matchup, but the Rangers still ran out winners, taking it 4-3, and they then followed that up with a 3-1 win in Washington.

Washington go into Game 4 knowing they must now win the next four games to advance in the playoffs.
The Capitals compiled a 40-31-11 record during the regular season, and that was enough to secure fourth place in the Metropolitan Division.
A run of six straight losses late in the regular season almost cost them a playoff place, but they finished strong with four wins in their final five games.
Washington failed to keep that good run going though, as they were beaten 4-1 and 4-3 in New York to start the series.
The Capitals now find themselves behind the 8-Ball after falling to a 3-1 defeat to the Rangers in their first home game of the series.
Verdict
New York are in firm control of the series, and at this point it feels like a case of 'when' and not 'if' they advance.
We expect that to happen tonight, with the Rangers completing a series sweep.
