The Canucks entered the playoffs having put together a 50-23-9 record in the regular season to win the Pacific Division.
They struggled for consistency late in the regular season, losing four of their final nine games, but they got off to a winning start in the playoffs as they beat Nashville 4-2 at home.
Vancouver failed to follow that up as they lost the next meeting 4-1, only to rebound and take the next two games on the road, winning 2-1 in regulatiopn and 4-3 in overtime.
However, the Canucks were unable to wrap up the series on the home ice, suffering a 2-1 defeat on Tuesday night.
Nashville Predators Form
Nashville return home having fended off elimination with a crucial victory in Vancouver on Tuesday night.
The Predators sealed their place in the playoffs by finishing fourth in the Central Division with a regular season record of 47-30-5.
They got off to a losing start in the playoffs as they gave up three goals in the final period to lose 4-2 in Vancouver.
Nashville bounced back to take the second meeting 4-1, but they failed to back up that victory when they returned home for the next two games, losing 2-1 in regulation and 4-3 in overtime.
The Predators avoided elimination on Tuesday though, as they travelled to Vancouver to down the Canucks 2-1.
Verdict
Vancouver choked on Tuesday, but they have had plenty of success in Nashville in recent time so we expect a response here.
