Winnipeg head to the ‘city of brotherly love’ looking to snap a four-game losing skid.
The Jets ended 2023 with back-to-back wins and kept that good sequence going during the first couple of weeks of 2024.
They took their winning run to eight games before finally falling to a 2-0 defeat when they hosted Philadelphia.
Winnipeg rebounded with a 4-2 win at home to the New York Islanders, and backed that up when they then won 2-1 in overtime in Ottawa.
The Jets have not won since though, following up a 4-1 loss at Boston with a 1-0 overtime loss in Toronto, a 4-2 home defeat to the Maple Leafs and a 3-0 loss in Pittsburgh.
Philadelphia Flyers Form
Philadelphia return home looking to build on a road win that brought an end to a five-game losing run.
The Flyers enjoyed a five-game win streak in January as they beat Montreal via a shootout at home, before heading out on the road to beat Minnesota 4-3 (OT), Winnipeg 2-0 and St Louis 4-2.
They made it five-in-a-row when the returned home to beat Dallas 5-1, but their form nose-dived after that loss.
Philadelphia lost 7-4 to Colorado, 5-3 to Ottawa and 6-3 to Tampa Bay, and then travelled to Detroit for a 3-0 loss to the Red Wings.
The Flyers’ losing sequence hit five games with a 6-2 home defeat to Boston, but they finally ended that losing run this week when they ran out 2-1 winners at Florida.
Verdict
Philadelphia have underwhelmed at home this season and Winnipeg have been solid on their travels, so we like the Jets in this one.
