De Minaur Builds Toward Strong Run

Alex de Minaur reached the quarterfinals in Monte Carlo last week, where he lost to Valentin Vacherot in three sets. It marked his first back-to-back wins since February.

He began the season strongly with a quarterfinal run at the Australian Open and a title in Rotterdam, but his form dipped afterward, managing just one win across his next three events.

His recent struggles are highlighted by four consecutive losses to lower-ranked opponents, including a disappointing defeat to Patrick Kypson in Acapulco.

De Minaur has played in Barcelona five times and has cleared the opening round on every occasion, with his best results being a semifinal in 2022 and quarterfinal appearances in 2023 and 2025.

Ofner Builds Form After Slow Start

Sebastian Ofner qualified for the main draw in Barcelona with back-to-back 6-4, 6-4 wins over Alejo Sanchez Quilez and Patrick Kypson.

He struggled at the start of the season, losing five of his first six matches, but has since bounced back strongly with four consecutive quarterfinal-or-better results on the Challenger circuit, including titles in Saint-Brieuc and Thionville.

Ofner will now look to carry that momentum onto the main tour. He previously played here in 2024, reaching the second round after defeating Pavel Kotov.
