Cerundolo's Grass-Court Revival Continues

Francisco Cerundolo booked his place in the final with a 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Brandon Nakashima. The Argentine let early advantages slip in the opening set but responded well, taking control of the match across the final two sets to complete the comeback.

It has been an impressive week for Cerundolo, who had not won a grass-court match in either of the previous two seasons. Before this event, the only time he had recorded multiple main-draw wins on grass came during his title run in Eastbourne.

The 27-year-old has produced several solid results this season, although he has not matched the level of his early 2025 campaign. That dip saw him fall outside the top 20 rankings, but this run has moved him back within reach of that group.

Cerundolo will now contest the eighth tour-level final of his career. He owns a 4-3 record in previous finals, with all four of his title victories coming against opponents ranked inside the top 35.

Tommy Paul Returns to the Queen's Club Final

Tommy Paul reached the final with a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 victory over Ugo Humbert. The American fell behind by an early break in the opening set but quickly recovered, taking control of the match and closing it out in straight sets.

This will be Paul's second consecutive final at Queen's Club. He reached the championship match here last year and went on to defeat Lorenzo Musetti for the title. He now returns to the final looking to add another grass-court trophy to his collection.

Paul has enjoyed a strong season, recording five quarterfinal-or-better finishes on tour. Those results include a title in Houston and runner-up finishes in Delray Beach and Hamburg, underlining his consistency across different surfaces.

The American owns a 5-5 record in tour-level finals during his career. On grass, he has contested two finals and holds a 1-1 record, with his Queen's Club title accounting for his lone trophy on the surface.

Verdict

One player has clearly performed at a higher level than the other this week, and on that basis Paul deserves the edge heading into the final. Backing Paul to win, Paul to win in straight sets, and Paul to cover the -3.5 games handicap all look like strong options.
