They failed to make a winning start to the campaign though, losing 110-98 at home to the Denver Nuggets.
Devin Booker endured a difficult night as he shot just 20% from field goal range in a 12-point performance.
Deandre Ayton struggled too. The reliable rebounder notched just six total boards in the paint.
Chris Paul did open his season with a trademark double double, putting up 15 points and dishing out 10 rebounds.

As we predicted the new-look Los Angeles Lakers dropped their season opener at home to Golden State.
The Lakers went into the game having gone 0-6 in preseason and although LeBron James and Anthony Davis delivered on opening night, they got very little help in the 121-114 loss.
James finished the matchup as the top scorer from both teams, having put up 34 points. He also had 11 total rebounds in a season-opening double double.
Davis also registered a double double against the Warriors. He produced an efficient shooting display from field goal range as he racked up 33 points, and in the paint he matched James with 11 boards.
No other player hit double digits for points, rebounds or assists though.
Russell Westbrook endured a disappointing debut as he scored just eight points and recorded only four assists and five rebounds.
