They wrapped up the regular season in good form too, winning three of their final four games to build some steam ahead of the postseason.
Los Angeles fell to defeat in their opening playoff game though, giving up a bunch of goals as they were beaten 7-4 in Edmonton.
The Kings responded well though, and this time they came out on top in a high-scoring encounter, beating the Oilers 5-4 in overtime.
Verdict
Los Angeles won last time out, but history suggests they are unlikely to follow it up.
