New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks Picks & Betting Tips

New Orleans can return from the bye with a Monday night victory in Seattle.

The Saints will give the struggling Seahawks run defense a heavy dose of Alvin Kamara in this one.

Jameis Winston’s job will then be to protect the football and if he does, New Orleans can cover.

New Orleans Saints Form

New Orleans emerge from their bye week with a 3-2 record that has seen them fail to string together wins.

The Saints opened in sensational fashion with a 38-3 blowout of Green Bay despite being forced to relocate to Jacksonville for the game.

They were brought back down to Earth by a 26-7 loss to Carolina but responded with a 28-13 win at New England.

They then fell to a 27-21 upset defeat at home to the New York Giants before going into the bye on the back of a 33-22 success at Washington.

QB Jameis Winston is 70/116 for 892 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Deonte Harris and Marquez Callaway have been his favorite targets among the receivers, combining for 457 yards and five TDs.

Alvin Kamara is the star turn in this offense though. He has 481 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns.

The defense has been a mixed bag. The Saints rank in the bottom 10 against the pass but are #2 in the league in defending the run.

Seattle Seahawks Form

Seattle are in desperate need of a victory after losing four of their last five games.

The Seahawks opened with a 28-16 win at Indianapolis but then blew a 14-point fourth quarter lead to lose at home to Tennessee, 33-30.

A 30-17 defeat in Minnesota followed before Seattle bounced back with a 28-21 win at San Francisco.

They lost Russell Wilson to injury in their next game though and that 26-17 loss at home to the Los Angeles Rams was followed by a 23-20 overtime loss in Pittsburgh.

Wilson remains sidelined so Geno Smith gets the start at QB. He is 33/49 for 340 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Alex Collins will be the first choice back with Chris Carson out. Collins has rushed for 225 yards off 48 carries this season, scoring two TDs.

If Smith does throw the ball the most likely targets are Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. They have combined for 866 yards and eight TDs so far.

Defensively Seattle are a mess. They rank last in total defense and #21 in points allowed per game.
