The Mariners endured a rough run during the first half of April, as they lost eight times in an 11-game spell.
That sequence included a disappointing home series with the Chicago Cubs that saw them fail to follow up a 4-2 victory as they dropped the next two meetings, 4-1 and 3-2.
Seattle bounced back from that in strong fashion, sweeping Cincinnati in a three-game series with 9-3, 3-1 and 5-1 victories.
The Mariners then backed that up in Colorado as they sandwiched a 2-1 defeat with 7-0 and 10-2 wins over the Rockies.
Texas Rangers Form
Texas come into this series looking to build on a much-needed victory in Atlanta that took them to 12-11.
The Rangers opened the season strong with six wins in their first eight games, but their form has nose-dived since then as they have won just six of their last 15 games.
They spent the last 10 games out on the road and went 5-5 during that time, starting with a series in Houston that saw them fail to build on a 12-8 victory as they lost 9-2 and 8-5.
Texas fared better in Detroit as they won 1-0 and then responded to a 4-2 defeat with 5-4 and 9-7 victories.
The Rangers had less success in Atlanta as they suffered 8-3 and 6-2 defeats, but they were able to avoid being swept as they took the final meeting 6-4.
Verdict
Seattle arrive in good form and starting pitcher Logan Gilbert is off to a solid start this season.
Add that to Texas' current struggles and the Mariners make for an appealing pick on the road.
