Blaydes is backed to get this to the mat and use his skills and size to maul Pavlovich for the finish.

  • Curtis Blaydes is 7-1 in his last 8 fights
  • 12 of Curtis Blaydes’ 17 wins have come by KO/TKO
  • Curtis Blaydes averaged 6.05 takedowns per 15 minutes

Sergei Pavlovich Form

Sergei Pavlovich is the #3 ranked fighter in the heavyweight division with a record of 17-1 (14 KO/TKOs).

Pavlovich suffered a baptism of fire in his UFC debut as he was taken down and stopping in the first round by Alistair Overeem in November 2018.

He has rebounded since that loss though and has won five consecutive fights, all in the first round, to break into the top five.

The 30-year-old Russian knocked out Marcelo Golm in just 66 seconds to register his first victory under the UFC banner.

Pavlovich then stopped both Maurice Green and Shamil Abdurakhimov, before recording the biggest win of his career to date when he took out former title challenger Derrick Lewis in just 55 seconds.

He then made it five-in-a-row last December, finishing dangerous striker Tai Tuivasa in only 54 seconds.

Curtis Blaydes Form

Curtis Blaydes is the #4 ranked fighter in the heavyweight division and boasts a 17-3 (12 KO/TKOs) record with one No Contest.

Blaydes made in impact on the heavyweight division as he beat Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt in 2018, only to then lose to future champion Francis Ngannou for the second time.

‘Razor’ rebounded from that loss with a four-fight win streak that included a second-round stoppage of former champion Junior dos Santos.

His streak was halted in February 2021 though, when he was knocked out in the second round by Derrick Lewis.

Blaydes has again responded well to a defeat though, winning each of his last three fights to get back in contention.

He beat Jairzinho Rozenstruik by decision in September of 2021, before recording two stoppage wins in 2022.

The 32-year-old American stopped Chris Daukaus with strikes in the second round, before injury brought a swift end to his bout with Tom Aspinall.

Verdict

Curtis Blaydes is an experienced campaigner who has been fighting top heavyweights for years.

He has a massive edge when it comes to wrestling, and he is backed to take full advantage of that.
