UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Font is taking place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, August 5.

Rob Font is a late replacement for Umar Nuramagomedov who was forced to pull out of the fight with Cory Sandhagen due to a shoulder injury sustained in training.

Due to the late nature of the fight it will be contested at catchweight and not bantamweight, but that does not mean the outcome will not have an effect of the rankings in the division.

Sandhagen is currently ranked #4 in the division, having bounced back from losing his interim title fight against Petr Yan with back-to-back wins over Marlon Vera and Song Yadong.

He will now look to make it three wins in a row at the expense of Font, who is currently ranked #7 in the division.

Font’s rise up the bantamweight ladder was slowed by unanimous decision defeats to Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera, but he got back on track in his first fight of 2023 as he took out Adrian Yanez in less than three minutes.

But can he now follow that up with a win that could catapult him right into title contention, or will Sandhagen make it three wins in a row and stake his own claim for a crack at the title?
