Purdue Form

Purdue go into this Elite Eight matchup with a tremendous record, having now won 32 of their 35 games this season.

The Boilermakers put together a nine-game win streak and a couple of seven-game win streaks during the regular season, which they ended with a run of five consecutive victories.

They improved that streak to six games when they beat Michigan State in the quarter-finals of the Big Ten tournament, 67-62, only to then lose 76-75 in overtime to Wisconsin.

Purdue have put that behind them in the national tournament though, following up a 78-50 victory over Grambling State with a 106-67 blowout of Utah State.

The Boilermakers then secured their place in the Elite Eight of March Madness by beating Gonzaga 80-68.

Tennessee Form

Tennessee enter this big matchup on a good run of form, having now won 10 of their last 12 games.

The Volunteers went on a seven-game win streak late in the regular season, but failed to end that part of the campaign with a victory, losing 85-81 at home to Kentucky.

They failed to bounce back in the SEC tournament too, as they went one-and-done thanks to a 73-56 defeat at the hands of Mississippi State.

Tennessee have bounced back at the national tournament though, following up an 83-49 win over Saint Peter’s with a 62-58 victory against Texas.

The Volunteers then advance to the Elite Eight of the competition with an 82-75 victory over Creighton.

Verdict

Purdue are backed to cover the spread as they march on in the tournament.

The Boilermakers are one of the best offensive teams in the nation and have already taken down Tennessee once this season.
