They bounced back a week later with a 45-7 win over Samford, but quickly fell back to losing ways as they were beaten 33-20 at home by Texas A&M in their conference opener.
Florida rebounded a week later to register their first SEC success of the season, beating Mississippi State 45-28 on the road.
The Gators then returned home last weekend to make it back-to-back wins by downing UCF, 24-13.

Tennessee return home looking to bounce back from a shock first defeat of the season that has left them 4-1.
The Volunteers raced out of the blocks with three non-conference wins that saw them pile up the points in a series of blowout victories.
They beat Chattanooga 69-3 at home, before hanging 51 points on NC State in a 51-10 success at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Tennessee returned home after that to shut out Kent State in a 71-0 victory, before heading to Oklahoma to beat the ranked Sooners, 25-15.
The Volunteers failed to make it to 5-0 however, as they suffered a surprise 19-14 defeat in Arkansas last weekend.
Verdict
Tennessee were among several top 11 teams that got knocked off last weekend, but we fully expect a reaction here.
The Volunteers are simply much better than Florida on both sides of the football.
