Marshall enter the 2025 season looking to back up a successful 2024 campaign that culminated with a conference championship.
The Thunder Herd lost two of their first three games, including a 49-14 defeat when they visited Ohio State.
They then stumbled early on in their conference schedule as they lost 24-23 at Georgia Southern, but they rebounded in emphatic fashion.
Marshall closed out the regular season on a six-game win streak that was enough to earn them a place in the Sun Belt Championship Game.
The Thundering Herd then claimed the conference championship as they blew out Louisiana, 31-3.

Georgia will be looking to rebound from a disappointing end to the 2024 campaign that saw them come up short in the College Football Playoffs.
The Bulldogs opened with three straight wins, only to suffer a 41-34 defeat at Alabama in a thrilling game at the end of September.
They rebounded with a four-game win streak that included a 30-15 victory over #1 Texas, only to then suffer another defeat as they fell 28-10 to Ole Miss.
Georgia rallied to win the next three though, earning their spot in the SEC Championship Game, and they were able to avenge their regular season defeat to Texas with a 22-19 victory.
The Bulldogs failed to follow that up in the Sugar Bowl however, as they were beaten 23-10 by Notre Dame.
Verdict
Georgia have not always been reliable when favored by this many points in the regular season.
However, the Bulldogs have dominated in recent season openers and this Marshall group is much changed since their 10-3 campaign, so we are leaning towards the Dawgs.
