The Fighting Irish then booked their place in the Orange Bowl with a 23-10 victory over Georgia in the delayed Sugar Bowl.

Penn State enter the Orange Bowl having rebounded from a Big Ten Championship Game loss with back-to-back wins.
The Nittany Lions opened with seven consecutive wins, only to see that perfect start end with a 20-13 defeat when they hosted Ohio State.
They responded with four straight wins to seal a trip to the conference championship, only to come up short as they were beaten 45-37 by Oregon.
Penn State had done enough to make the playoffs though, and opened their campaign with a 38-10 blowout of SMU in the first round.
The Nittany Lions then backed up that victory in the Fiesta Bowl, as they took down Boise State, 31-14.

This is likely to be a close matchup that goes down to the wire, and for that reason we have to go with the better defense.
