Texas head to Nashville looking to bounce back from a home defeat that cost them top spot in the AP College Football rankings.
The Longhorns opened the season with six consecutive wins to storm to the summit, starting with a 52-0 shutout win over Colorado State.
They then dominated defending champions Michigan in a 31-12 win on the road, before returning home to blowout UTSA, 56-7, and ULM, 51-3.
Texas then opened their SEC campaign with a 35-13 victory over Mississippi State, before taking down Oklahoma, 34-3, to improve to 6-0.
The Longhorns failed to make it to 7-0 however, as they suffered a 30-15 defeat in a fiery clash with Georgia last weekend.
Vanderbilt Form
Vanderbilt have grabbed plenty of headlines this season, winning five of their first seven games to earn a place in the rankings.
The Commodores kicked off the campaign with back-to-back home wins, beating Virginia Tech 34-27 and Alcorn State 55-0.
They then went out on the road to lose 36-32 at Georgia State and 30-27 at Missouri, but they rebounded in sensational fashion.
Vanderbilt were expected to be blown out by #Alabama, but instead they pulled off a famous victory, downing the Crimson Tide 40-35.
The Commodores then backed up that victory with a 20-13 win in Kentucky and a 24-14 success at home to Ball State.
Verdict
Texas are the better team and we fully expect them to get back to winning ways here.
However, it is tough to ignore Vanderbilt’s spread record and that upset win over Alabama, so give us the Commodores and the points.
