The Fighting Illini are taking good care of the football and they have rushed the ball effectively.

So while we do expect a win for #1 Oregon, we would not be shocked to see the visitors stay within three touchdowns.

Illinois make the long trip to the Pacific Northwest on the back of an upset win over defending national champions Michigan that took them to 6-1.

The Fighting Illini opened the season with a 45-0 shutout win over Eastern Illinois, and backed that up with a surprise 23-17 win over ranked Kansas.

The wins kept coming as they beat Central Michigan 30-9 to enter the rankings, and they then broke into the top 20 with a 31-24 victory at Nebraska.

Illinois’ flying start was brought to a halt by a 21-7 defeat at Penn State, but they rebounded immediately with a 50-49 victory over Purdue.

The Fighting Illini then claimed the scalp of Michigan, delighting the home crowd with a 21-7 win over the Wolverines.

Oregon Form

Oregon go into this matchup boasting a perfect 7-0 record that has propelled them to the top of the college football rankings.

The Ducks kicked off the season with back-to-back home games and had to earn a 24-14 win over Idaho and a 37-34 victory against Boise State.

They then went out on the road of the first time and recorded a couple of convincing victories, beating Oregon State 49-14 and UCLA 34-13.

Oregon returned home after that to beat Michigan State 31-10, and they then registered their most impressive win to date as they knocked off #2 Ohio State, 32-31.

There would be now letdown after that win either, as the Ducks’ 35-0 victory over Purdue sent them top of the rankings.

Verdict

Illinois @ Oregon

Oregon are on a roll and should win, but Illinois offer plenty of value against the spread.

Their run game can eat up the clock, and their ability to take care of the football means they are unlikely to make back-breaking mistakes that turn this into a blowout loss.
