Florida State enter this big rivalry matchup having suffered their sixth defeat of the season last weekend.

The Seminoles opened the season with a 24-21 defeat to Georgia Tech in Dublin, and that was a sign of things to come.

They returned home to lose 28-13 to Boston College and 20-12 to Memphis, before finally getting off the mark with a 14-9 victory over California.

Florida State failed to build on that though, as they were blown out 42-16 at SMU to start another three-game skid.

The Seminoles were beaten at home by Clemson, 29-13, and then fell to 1-6 as they lost on the road against Duke, 23-16.

Miami FL return home still boasting a perfect record after another thrilling conference win last weekend.

The Hurricanes came into the new season with high hopes and made an early statement as they blew out Florida in ‘The Swamp’, 41-17.

They backed that up with a couple of home wins, beating Florida A&M 56-9 and Ball State 62-0, before heading to South Florida to down the Bulls, 50-15.

Miami FL began their conference campaign after that and got off to a winning start as they snatched a 38-34 victory over Virginia Tech.

The Hurricanes then staged a remarkable fourth-quarter fightback to win 39-38 at California, before fending off Louisville in a shootout on the road, 52-45.
