Both teams boast elite defenses, but it is the Ducks who have the edge on offense in the form of quarterback Dante Moore and a dominant run game that can help them dictate tempo.

  • Oregon have covered in 3 of their last 4 games away from Autzen Stadium
  • The Under has cashed in 8 of Oregon’s last 11 games
  • The two teams are allowing a combined average of 27.9 points per game

Head To Head

Texas Tech Form

Texas Tech enter the college football playoffs having won six consecutive games, including the Big 12 Championship.

The Red Raiders opened the with three non-conference wins, before kicking their conference slate off with a 34-10 victory at Utah.

They backed that up with a 35-11 win at Houston and a 42-17 victory at home to Kansas, only to then see their perfect start end with a 26-22 loss at Arizona State.

Texas Tech responded in style though, shutting out Oklahoma State in a 42-0 success, and clinched their Big 12 Championship appearance by beating Kansas State 43-20, BYU 29-7, UCF 48-9 and West Virginia 49-0.

The Red Raiders then claimed the conference crown in the rematch with BYU, blowing out the Cougars in a 34-7 victory.

Oregon Form

Oregon go into this matchup having already won one college football playoff game to extend their current win streak to seven games.

The Ducks kicked off their season with a couple of non-conference successes, before beginning their Big Ten slate with a 34-14 victory at Northwestern.

They then beat state rivals Oregon State 41-7, before returning to conference duty with a 30-24 victory at a Penn State team ranked number three at the time.

Oregon’s Big Ten Championship hopes were essentially ended a week later as they lost 30-20 to Indiana, but they earned a playoff place by beating Rutgers 56-10, Wisconsin 21-7, Iowa 18-16, Minnesota 42-13, USC 42-27 and Washington 26-14.

The Ducks then successfully navigated the first round of the playoffs as they beat James Madison 51-34.

Verdict

With two outstanding defenses on show this is all about which offense can me enough key plays to get the job done.

With Dante Moore at the controls and a strong run game supporting him, we are backing the Ducks to have enough in the Orange Bowl.
