Detroit head out on the road having responded to an opening-day defeat with three consecutive wins.
The Lions made a losing start to the season as they were beaten 27-13 in Green Bay, leading to questions about just how much the loss of their offensive and defensive co-ordinators would affect them this year.
They have silenced those questions over the past three games, roaring into life with three wins in a row.
Detroit got off the mark with a 52-21 blowout of Chicago in their home opener, and backed that up with a big 38-30 win in Baltimore on Monday Night Football.
The Lions then improved to 3-1 last weekend as they made straightforward work of Cleveland in a 34-10 victory.
Cincinnati Bengals Form
Cincinnati have notched a couple of wins this season, but the loss of Joe Burrow and back-to-back defeats has them reeling.
The Bengals opened the 2025 campaign on the road and snatched a 17-16 win over division rivals Cleveland thanks to a late field goal.
They backed that up a week later in their home opener, as they fended of Jacksonville in a 31-27 victory, but that win came at a price.
Cincinnati lost starting quarterback Burrow during the win, and they have been recorded a victory since.
The Bengals were blown out in Minnesota a week later, losing 48-10 to the Vikings, and that was followed up by a 28-3 loss in Denver last weekend.
Verdict
These two teams are headed in very different directions going into this Week 5 clash.
Detroit have all of the momentum heading into this game and should simply be too good for a Cincinnati team that may be waving the white flag already.
