They got off the mark with a 52-21 blowout of NFC North foes Chicago, and backed that up on the road as they downed Baltimore 38-30.
That victory over the Ravens proved to be the start of a successful run for Detroit against teams from the AFC North.
The Lions eased to a 34-10 victory at home to Cleveland, before heading back out on the road for a 37-24 success in Cincinnati.

Kansas City enter this matchup in desperate need of a morale-boosting win, having slipped to 2-3 last time out.
The Chiefs entered the new campaign looking to regain the Vince Lombardi Trophy they surrendered to Philadelphia, but things have not gone to plan so far.
They opened up with a trip to Brazil, where they suffered a 27-21 defeat at the hands of division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kansas City then lost the Super Bowl rematch with Philadelphia at home, 20-17, before finally getting their first win on the board as they beat the New York Giants on the road, 22-9.
The Chiefs made it back-to-back wins as they then downed Baltimore at home, 37-20, but they were unable to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 31-28 in Jacksonville.
