San Francisco make the long trip to Tampa having bounced back from their first defeat of the season to improve to 4-1.
The 49ers opened up the season with back-to-back road games, but that did not prevent them from making a flying start.
They first beat division rivals Seattle 17-13, and then backed that up with a 26-21 success against the Saints in New Orleans.
San Francisco made it three-in-a-row as they won their home opener against Arizona, 16-15, only to see that run end as they were beaten 26-21 by Jacksonville at home.
The 49ers issued an immediate response though, as they won on the road against division rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, 26-23 in overtime.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Form
Tampa Bay also enter this matchup having rebounded from a first loss to take their record to 4-1.
And just like their opponents on Sunday, the Buccaneers also made a fine start with back-to-back road victories.
They opened with a 23-20 win over the Falcons in Atlanta, and followed that up with a 20-19 victory when they visited Houston.
Tampa Bay made it three-in-a-row by beating the New York Jets in their home opener, 29-27, but their perfect start finally ended a week later as they lost 31-25 to Philadelphia.
The Buccaneers bounced back on the road though, as they downed the Seahawks in Seattle, 38-35.
Verdict
San Francisco are finding a way to overcome their injuries, but that is unlikely on this coast-to-coast trip.
