Houston head to Kansas City looking to build on back-to-back wins that have increased their lead at the top of the AFC South.
The Texans entered the season with lofty expectations after a highly successful rookie campaign for CJ Stroud, and they made a strong start with six wins in their first eight games.
However, a 21-13 defeat at the New York Jets on Halloween sparked a dip in form as they then lost two of their next three games.
Houston sandwiched a 34-10 blowout of Dallas on the road with home defeats to Detroit, 26-23, and Tennessee, 32-27.
The Texans have not lost since though, following up a 23-20 victory at Jacksonville with a 20-12 home win over Miami last weekend.
Kansas City Chiefs Form
Kansas City go into this game with a 13-1 record that has secured a playoff place and given them a two-game lead in the race for the number one seeding.
The Chiefs raced out of the blocks with nine consecutive wins, which saw them down Baltimore and all three of their division rivals.
That perfect run was finally halted by a 30-21 defeat in Buffalo on November, but they have not lost since.
Kansas City rebounded with a 30-27 victory at Carolina, and they then returned home to beat Las Vegas 19-17 and the Los Angeles Chargers 19-7.
The Chiefs then made it four-in-a-row with a 21-7 victory in Cleveland, but the win came at a cost as Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle sprain that has left him ‘week to week’.
Verdict
Patrick Mahomes is going to play in this one, but we are not expecting a runaway success for the Chiefs because of that.
