The Buccaneers made a solid start as they won four of their first six games, including a 20-16 victory at Detroit and a 33-16 success at home to Philadelphia.
Their form collapse in late October though, as a 41-31 defeat to Baltimore proved to be the start of a four-game skid.
Tampa Bay lost 31-26 to Atlanta, 30-24 in overtime in Kansas City, and 23-20 at home to San Francisco, before finally stopping the rot with a 30-7 blowout of the New York Giants.
The Buccaneers then backed that up by sandwiching a 28-13 home win over Las Vegas with road victories over Carolina, 26-23 in overtime, and the Los Angeles Chargers, 40-17.
Dallas Cowboys Form
Dallas enter this matchup having kept their slim playoff hopes alive by winning three of their previous four games.
The Cowboys underwhelmed as they lost two of their first five games of the season, both at home.
Their form then nose-dived spectacularly as they lost five straight games and also saw Dak Prescott go down with what proved to be a season-ending injury.
Dallas have given themselves some hope of the past few weeks though, starting with the surprise 34-26 victory at Washington.
The Cowboys then sandwiched a 27-20 home defeat to Cincinnati with road wins over the New York Giants, 27-20, and Carolina, 30-14.

Dallas have kept their season alive in recent weeks, but they have feasted on bad teams.
