Los Angeles wrapped up their regular season campaign by snapping a two-game skid to finish with a 12-5 record.
The Rams made a strong start to the season as they won five of their seven games before the bye week, and when they returned to action they won four straight.
They beat New Orleans 34-10 at home, and then followed up a 42-26 victory at San Francisco with home successes against Seattle, 21-19, and Tampa Bay, 34-7.
Los Angeles then responded to a 31-28 defeat in Carolina with wins over Arizona, 45-17, and Detroit, 41-34, but they failed to maintain that momentum as they lost 38-37 at Seattle and 27-24 in Atlanta.
The Rams did at least wrap things up with a win though, blowing out Arizona in a 37-20 victory.
Carolina Panthers Form
Carolina lost three of their final four games of the regular season, but an 8-9 record was enough to hand them the NFC South crown.
The Panthers made a rough start as they lost three of their first four games, before enjoying their best run in October as they reeled off three consecutive wins.
They cooled off after that though and went into the bye week on an inconsistent run of form, going 3-3 in the space of six games to sit 7-6.
Carolina then returned to action with a 20-17 defeat in New Orleans, but rebounded a week later as they beat Tampa Bay 23-20 at home.
The Panthers did not win again in the regular season though, as a 27-10 loss to Seattle and a 16-14 defeat in Tampa left them needing help to make the playoffs.
Verdict
Carolina took the regular season meeting, but Los Angeles are backed for revenge.
The offense has been much more consistent in recent weeks and Matthew Stafford has a massive experience advantage edge over Bryce Young.
