Nashville booked their place in the playoffs by compiling a 47-30-5 record to finish fourth in the Central Division.
The Predators were hit or miss during the final few weeks of the regular season, as they went 4-3 in their final seven games.
They ended a run of three consecutive defeats by beating St Louis 6-3, but failed to build on that as they lost 2-0 at the New York Islanders.
Nashville responded by beating New Jersey via a shootout, only to then lose 4-3 in overtime when they host Winnipeg.
The Predators bounced back to win 5-1 in Chicago and 6-4 at home to Columbus, but they were unable to close out the regular season with a win as they were beaten 4-2 in Pittsburgh.
Vancouver Canucks Form
Vancouver put together a 50-23-9 regular in the regular season to win the Pacific Division crown.
The Canucks finished the regular season in inconsistent form though, as they went 5-4 over their final nine games.
They failed to string together wins as they beat Anaheim 3-2, lost 6-3 in Vegas, won 2-1 in Arizona and lost 6-3 at Los Angeles.
Vancouver then returned home to beat Vegas 4-3, only to suffer a 4-3 defeat in overtime when they hosted Arizona.
The Canucks finally strung together wins when then won 3-1 in Edmonton and 4-1 at home to Calgary, but they failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost their final game, 4-2 in Winnipeg.
Verdict
Vancouver were the more consistent team over the course of the regular season.
They also swept Nashville with three straight wins, so we are leaning towards the Canucks in this one.
