The Lightning finished fourth in the Atlantic Division, having put together a 45-29-8 record during the regular season.

The Lightning did wrap up the regular season with a win, beating Toronto 6-4, but they again failed to follow up a victory as they lost their postseason opener, losing 3-2 at Florida.

Florida started the sequence with a 2-0 victory over Ottawa, and followed that up by beating Columbus 4-2, Buffalo 3-0 in overtime, and Toronto 5-2 in regulation.
The Panthers then made it five wins in a row in their first game of the playoffs, beating Florida 3-2 on Sunday.
Verdict
Florida have repeatedly got the better of Tampa Bay in recent times, and that trend is likely to continue as they notch another home win.
