Vegas Golden Knights Form

Vegas go into this matchup with the opportunity to pull level in the series before heading back home for Game 5.

The Golden Knights made a rough start to the series as they squandered home advantage, losing 4-2 in regulation and 5-4 in overtime.

They rebounded in Game 3 though, as they went out on the road to edge Edmonton in a seven-goal thriller, 4-3.

Vegas earned their place in the playoffs by going 50-22-10 in the regular season to win the division, but they made a mixed start to the postseason as they split the first four games with Minnesota.

The Golden Knights took control after that though, recording back-to-back 3-2 wins, one in overtime at home and one in regulation on the road, to seal a 4-2 series success.

Edmonton Oilers Form

Edmonton enter this matchup on the back of a loss, but still holding a lead in this playoff series with Vegas.

The Oilers visited Vegas for the first two games of the series, and returned home in a commanding position thanks to a 4-2 win in regulation and a 5-4 victory in overtime.

They failed to back that up in their home opener though, as they were beaten 4-3 by the Golden Knights on Saturday.

Edmonton earned their spot in the playoffs by compiling a 48-29-5 record, only to make a slow start to the postseason as they were beaten 6-5 and 6-2 in Los Angeles.

The Oilers responded to that adversity in emphatic fashion though, as they reeled off four consecutive victories to clinch a 4-2 series victory.

Verdict

Edmonton may have dropped Game 3, but they are still the team to back in this one.

The Oilers have largely had Vegas' number in recent times and they have been solid at home over the past several weeks.
