They finally strung together wins when they followed up a 6-0 shutout win in Pittsburgh with a 4-1 victory when they hosted Chicago.
Washington failed to keep that run going as they were beaten 3-0 in Winnipeg, and they then fell to a 7-2 defeat in Edmonton.

Calgary enter this matchup on the back of a couple of victories that have steadied the ship after a rough start to March.
The Flames began the month with a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh, only to then suffer a 4-2 defeat when they hosted Seattle.
They rebounded to 6-3 in Tampa Bay, but they failed to back up that victory as they then lost their next three games.
Calgary were beaten 5-1 at Florida and 7-2 in Carolina, before heading back home for a 6-2 loss to Colorado.
The Flames stopped the rot with a 4-1 victory over defending champions Vegas, and they backed that up a couple of days later by beating Montreal 5-2.
