St Louis head to the nation’s capital riding a three-game win streak that has improved their record to 3-1.
The Battlehawks came into the season as one of the favourites to be crowned the first ever UFL champions, but they got off to a bad start.
They visited Michigan for their season-opening game and we sunk by a 64-yard field goal, losing 18-16 to the Panthers.
St Louis put that behind them a week later though, as a last-gasp field goal of their own secured a 27-24 win over Arlington in their home opener.
The Battlehawks then downed the Brahmas 31-24 in San Antonio, before returning home to beat Memphis 32-17 a week ago.
DC Defenders Form
DC return home looking to bounce back from a road defeat that has left them with a 2-2 record after four weeks.
The Defenders were a dominant force in the 2023 XFL, up until their shock defeat to Arlington in the championship game.
They came into this season with high hopes, but mis-fired on opening night as they were beaten 27-12 in San Antonio.
DC bounced back quickly though, beating Houston 23-18 in their home opener, and they backed that up by staging a late fightback to win 29-28 in Arlington a week later.
The Defenders failed to make it three-in-a-row though, as they gave up a late lead to lose 20-18 in Birmingham last weekend.
Verdict
St Louis’ offense has been clicking over the past few weeks and they are backed to put DC to the sword on Sunday.
