De Minaur Overcomes Diallo Challenge
Alex de Minaur moved into the second round after defeating Gabriel Diallo in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. He was twice a break down in the opening set and even saved two set points in the tiebreak before turning the match around and taking control in the second set.
The Australian went through a difficult stretch between Acapulco and Rome, where results were hard to come by. However, he appears to have found his level again at an important stage of the season, with a significant number of ranking points to defend over the coming weeks.
De Minaur recently reached the semifinals in Hamburg, the third round at Roland Garros and the final in 's-Hertogenbosch. He will be hoping to carry that form into another deep run this week.

Shapovalov Produces Comeback Win in London
Denis Shapovalov defeated Jack Pinnington Jones in three tight sets to reach the second round at Queen's Club. He trailed by a break twice in the deciding set and even allowed his opponent to serve for the match before producing a comeback to seal the victory.
With the win, the Canadian snapped a five-match losing streak and recorded his first victory since Munich in April. He has registered multiple wins at only three of his 12 tournaments this season, reaching the semifinals in Dallas, the third round at Indian Wells and the quarterfinals in Munich.
Outside Wimbledon, Shapovalov has not won multiple matches at a grass-court event since 2021, which was also the last time he reached a quarterfinal on the surface. He will be hoping to end that run and put together a deeper campaign this week.
