Gea Secures Top-100 Debut
Arthur Gea reached the Los Cabos final after defeating Coleman Wong 7-6, 6-3 in straight sets. The Frenchman nearly squandered a 4-1 lead in the opening set but won the crucial points before closing out the match comfortably.
Until a few weeks ago, Gea had struggled for consistency, winning only two main-draw matches across his first eight tour-level tournaments of the season. He has since rediscovered his form by reaching the final at the Granby Challenger and has carried that momentum into Los Cabos.
Before 2026, Gea had never won a tour-level main-draw match. Earlier this season, he reached the quarterfinals in Montpellier and recorded his maiden Grand Slam main-draw victory at the Australian Open.
He also produced four semifinal-or-better finishes on the Challenger Tour earlier this year. With this run to the final, Gea is guaranteed to make his top-100 debut next week.

Shapovalov Revives Season in Los Cabos
Denis Shapovalov moved one win away from successfully defending his Los Cabos title after defeating Cameron Norrie 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in the semifinals. The Canadian fired nine aces and saved nine of the 11 break points he faced during the match.
This is a much-needed turnaround for Shapovalov, who had struggled for results in recent months and arrived in Los Cabos after failing to win a match in five of his previous six tournaments.
That disappointing stretch saw him drop outside the top 60 in the rankings, but his run this week has lifted him back inside the top 50.
Shapovalov heads into the final with a 5-5 career record in ATP Tour-level finals, having won each of his last three title matches.
