The Hungarian has posted three semifinal results on tour this year, reaching this stage in Mallorca, Bucharest and Auckland, along with the third round at the Australian Open. Apart from these results, he has struggled to win multiple matches in other events this year.
This is his third appearance in Cincinnati. He reached the third round on his debut in 2024 before reaching the second round last year.

Zheng Eyes Another Step in His Rapid Rise
Michael Zheng secured his place in the Cincinnati main draw after coming from behind to win both of his qualifying matches. He will now be looking to carry that momentum into the main draw.
The 22-year-old has played a limited schedule this year but has produced encouraging results, including a third-round run at Wimbledon, main-draw appearances in Los Cabos and the Australian Open, and a couple of semifinal runs on the Challenger circuit.
Those results helped him reach a career-high ranking of 113 recently. Having played his first tour-level matches only this year, Zheng has already made seven main-draw appearances and won his opening match in three of them.
