Casper Ruud could face some fatigue concerns after a long run to the Rome Masters final, but he actually spent very little energy during that campaign, dominating most of his matches comfortably. He also owns an excellent record in Geneva, where he has already won multiple titles in the past.

  • Jenson Brooksby is on a six-match losing streak on tour.
  • He has not beaten a Top 10 player since 2023.

Brooksby Enduring Tough Stretch

Jenson Brooksby enjoyed an impressive comeback season last year after a long injury layoff. He won the Houston title, reached the final in Eastbourne and the semifinal in Tokyo, while also making a couple of third rounds at Masters events.

Those results helped Brooksby return to the top 50 after starting the season unranked. However, he has struggled to maintain that level in 2026. The American has played 11 events this season and managed only four wins. He also arrives on a six-match losing streak.

This is his second appearance in Geneva after falling to Cameron Norrie in the final qualifying round last year.

Ruud Thriving On Clay

Casper Ruud is coming off a strong run in Rome where he reached the final after wins over Jiri Lehecka, Lorenzo Musetti and Luciano Darderi before losing to Jannik Sinner in straight sets. It was his first tour-level final since Stockholm last year.

Ruud can be pleased with his recent level after dealing with fitness issues in Monte Carlo and an early exit during his Madrid title defense, which pushed him out of the top 20. His Rome run helped him return to that group.

The Norwegian had a mixed start to 2026, suffering three opening-round exits in his first six events. However, he has regained momentum during the clay swing by winning 10 of his 13 matches on the surface.

Ruud now returns to one of the most successful events of his career in Geneva. He has played the tournament four times and won the title on three occasions, with his only defeat coming against Nicolas Jarry in the 2023 quarterfinals.

Verdict

With Jenson Brooksby struggling for form and not being particularly dangerous on clay, this looks like a strong opportunity for Ruud to continue his momentum. Backing Ruud to win in straight sets and cover the -4.5 games handicap both look very appealing based on the level he showed in Rome.
