Kamil Majchrzak captured the maiden ATP title of his career last Sunday, a breakthrough achievement that is bound to come with both physical and emotional demands. It is difficult to expect him to immediately reproduce that same level in London this week, particularly given the short turnaround and the possibility of a natural letdown following such a significant milestone.

Lehecka Faces An In-Form Opponent

  • Majchrzak owns an 8–1 record on grass this year.
  • He is currently on a three-match winning streak against Top 10 players.
  • Lehecka holds a 17–7 record against players outside the Top 20 in 2026.
  • He has a perfect 2–0 record in opening-round matches at Queen’s Club.

Majchrzak Riding High After Maiden Title

Kamil Majchrzak enjoyed the best week of his career in 's-Hertogenbosch, where he captured his maiden ATP title. The Pole defeated three Top 10 players in succession during the latter stages of the tournament, a run that helped him break into the Top 50 for the first time.

Before the grass-court season, Majchrzak had recorded multiple wins at only two tournaments from his first 10 events of the year, reaching the third round in Miami and the quarterfinals in Brisbane.

His form has completely changed on grass. He has won eight of his last nine matches on the surface, including a semifinal run at the Birmingham Challenger before lifting the title in 's-Hertogenbosch. He now returns to Queen's Club for his second appearance after his previous visit ended in qualifying.

Czech Looking to Build on Strong Grass Start

Jiri Lehecka began his grass-court season in Stuttgart last week, where he reached the semifinals before losing to eventual champion Ben Shelton in three consecutive tiebreak sets. It was the second grass-court semifinal of his career and another encouraging result on the surface.

The Czech dealt with fitness issues earlier in the season, which affected his results in Australia and saw him lose significant ranking points, dropping out of the Top 20. However, he responded strongly over the following months, reaching the semifinals in Miami and the quarterfinals in Doha, Dubai and Madrid. Those results helped him climb to a career-high ranking of No. 12 a few weeks ago.

This will be Lehecka's third appearance at Queen's Club. He reached the second round on his debut in 2023 and followed it up with a runner-up finish in his most recent appearance in 2025.

Verdict

Majchrzak's situation could create an ideal opportunity for last year's runner-up Jiri Lehecka to take control of the matchup. Backing Lehecka to win in straight sets and cover the -3.5 games handicap both look well supported by the circumstances.
