The Battlehawks started the 2023 season with a sensational late fightback to beat the San Antonio Brahmas, 18-15, in Week 1.
They struggled massively on offense and trailed by 12 points heading into the final three minutes of the game at the Alamodome.
But out of nowhere quarterback AJ McCarron and the offense roared into life to stage a comeback for the ages.
He led St Louis on two touchdown drives either side of a successful Onside 4th Down attempt, with his TD pass to Austin Proehl with 16 seconds to go sealing the win.

Seattle go into their home opener looking to get their first win on the board after last weekend’s defeat.
The Sea Dragons came into the season as one of the favorites to win the XFL Championship, but came up short in DC, losing a repeat of the 2020 season opener, 22-18.
They started strong and opened up a nine-point lead in the first quarter, and then led by as many as 10 points in the third.
However, quarterback Ben DiNucci threw a costly pick-six to swing momentum in the favor of the Defenders and they never recovered.
DiNucci then turned the ball over twice more in the fourth quarter, including a fumble that ended the game.
