San Antonio blew a 12-point lead in the final three minutes as they lost their first ever XFL game.
The Brahmas looked to be closing in on a victory over St Louis when Parker Romo’s 48-yard field goal have them a 15-3 lead at the Alamodome.
They had been able to control the clock with a punishing run game that amassed 133 yards, and a dominant defensive display that had shut down the Battlehawks’ offense.
However, San Antonio’s defense could not complete the job, suffering a spectacular collapse in the final three minutes.
The Brahmas allowed two touchdown drives either side of giving up an Onside 4th Down, and that condemned them to an 18-15 defeat.
Orlando Guardians Form
Orlando came into this season with many predicting they will be the worst team in the XFL this season.
Their Week 1 loss at Houston has done little to chance that belief – they were blown out 33-12.
Starting quarterback Paxton Lynch had a rough night as he was sacked four times and picked off once before he was benched in favour of Quinten Dormady.
Dormady did not fare any better, throwing a couple of interceptions while being sacked three times.
