DC started the 2020 season with a home win against Seattle, and they repeated that on Sunday night.
This victory was a lot less convincing though, as they trailed for much of the game before a huge pick six turned things around.
The Defenders trailed by 10 points midway through the third quarter, but Michael Joseph swung the game in their favor with a big pick six.
He had another in the fourth quarter too, setting up D’Eriq King for what proved to be the game-winning touchdown.

Vegas go into their home opener looking to bounce back from an opening-day defeat in Arlington.
The Vipers held a 14-3 lead at half-time thanks to a couple of touchdown catches from Jeff Badet.
Luis Perez threw three more touchdown passes in the second half, but unfortunately for him two of them were costly pick sixes to Renegades players.
Despite those mistakes, Vegas did get one last chance to rescue the game with 49 seconds to go.
Perez led them downfield and hit Cinque Sweeting for a touchdown with 12 seconds remaining, but their attempt to force overtime with a two-point conversion attempt ended in failure.
