New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays Picks & Betting Tips

The 35-year-old has been battered around since he returned to the mound on Aug. 30, giving up 26 hits and 14 runs in 22 innings of work. 

Toronto (88-70) moved within 1.0 game of fifth place Boston with Wednesday’s 6-5 win over New York. The Blue Jays are also 0.5 game behind Seattle.

The Blue Jays have won three of four and are 5-5 in the last 10. Toronto is 44-32 at home and 67-50 vs RHPs. 

Ray has alternated strong outings with poor ones over the last five starts, although he is 2-1 in September with a 2.51 ERA as he has allowed 23 hits – four home runs – and 8 runs while walking 11 and striking out 42over 28.2 innings of work.

Bo Bichette hit his second home run of the night in the bottom of the eighth inning, off Clay Holmes, to give Toronto a 6-5 victory on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays, who led 4-0 after three innings, outhit the Yankees 10-7.

Verdict

This is a big game for both teams with the AL wild card race extremely tight. This is an interesting game as both Kluber and Ray have not fared well this year in the series. However, Ray has been fabulous over the last two games at the Rogers Centre and the lefty is 3-0 with a 1.32 ERA and a .163 OBA in seven games this year. Ray has held current members of the Yankees’ to a .186 batting average over his career.
