The Stars charged into the postseason thanks to a 52-21-9 regular-season record that earned them top spot in the Central Division.
They won 12 of their final 14 games to fend off Winnipeg, but they have failed to keep that run going in the playoffs.
Dallas have home advantage in this series, but dug themselves into an early hole as they suffered 4-3 and 3-1 defeats to Vegas.
The Stars have bounced back on the road though, hauling themselves back into this series with a 3-2 win in overtime over the weekend.
Vegas Golden Knights Form
Vegas go into their second home game of the series looking to bounce back from a loss and take a 3-1 series lead.
The Golden Knights put together a 45-29-8 record in the regular season to finish fourth in the Pacific Division and book their place in the playoffs.
They blew hot and cold over the final few weeks though, losing four of their final seven games in the regular season.
Vegas made a hot start to the postseason though, as they went out on the road and beat Dallas 4-3 and 3-1 to take command of the series.
That gave the Golden Knights the chance to clinch the series at home, but they must now play at least one more road game after losing 3-2 in overtime in Game 3.
Verdict
Vegas passed up the chance to wrap things up at home, but we are not abandoning them.
The Golden Knights boast a strong record against Dallas this season and they are usually a reliable pick at home.
