New Orleans Pelicans Form
New Orleans head to Miami on the back of a defeat, but in good form with seven wins in their last nine games.
The Pelicans rebounded from a 123-114 defeat in Indiana with a 129-102 victory when they returned home to face the Pacers.
They then went back out on the road to build on that victory with a 139-98 blowout win in Toronto, followed by a 103-95 victory in Philadelphia and a 116-103 success in Atlanta.
New Orleans’ streak was ended at four games by a 116-95 home defeat to Cleveland, but they bounced back quickly to win the next three.
The Pelicans beat the LA Clippers 112-104 and Portland 126-107 at home, and Brooklyn 104-91 on the road, before heading to Orlando for a 121-106 defeat last night.
Miami Heat Form
Miami enter this matchup in improved form, having responded to a four-game losing skid with three wins in their last four outings.
The Heat began March with back-to-back wins, beating Utah 126-120 and Detroit 118-110 at home, but their form soon dipped as they lost the next four.
They were beaten 114-108 by Dallas and 107-100 by Oklahoma City on the road, before returning home to lose 110-108 to Washington and 100-88 to Denver.
Miami stopped the rot when they went back out on the road, winning both games of a double-header in Detroit, 108-95 and 104-101.
The Heat failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 98-91 in Philadelphia, but they did rebound quickly courtesy of a 107-104 win in Cleveland.
Verdict
Miami’s form has improved and they have had New Orleans’ number for several seasons, so we are siding with the Heat in this one.
