Tampa Bay head back out on the road knowing they must win their next three games to advance in the playoffs after a big Game 4 victory.
The Lighting booked their place in the playoffs by finishing fourth in the Atlantic Division standings with a 45-29-8 record.
However, unlike Florida they came into the postseason having seen their form cool off with four defeats in their final six regular season games.
Tampa Bay were unable to turn things around in the first three games of this playoff series with Florida, losing 3-2 and 3-2 in overtime on the road, before losing 5-3 at home.
The Lightning avoided being swept though, as they rallied to win 6-3 in Game 4 over the weekend.
Florida Panthers Form
Florida return home looking to clinch this NHL Playoff series at the second time of asking, having passed up the chance in Game 4.
The Panthers led the way in the Atlantic Division this season, compiling a 52-24-6 record to finish top of the standings.
They finished the regular season strong too, winning each of their final four games to enter the postseason with plenty of momentum.
Florida took that win streak to six games as they hosted Tampa Bay in the first two games of this playoff series, winning 3-2 and 3-2 in overtime.
The Panthers then made it seven wins in a row on with a 5-3 road win in Game 3, but they missed out on the chance to sweep the Lightning, as they were beaten 6-3 in Game 4.
Verdict
Florida dropped Game 4, but we are not putting too much stock in Tampa Bay's victory.
The Panthers have piled up a bunch of wins over the Lightning dating back to February 2023, and we expect to see another here.
