The Jazz’s rough run started with a five-game losing skid which was eventually ended by a 128-108 defeat to San Antonio.
They failed to build on that as they then lost three straight games on the road, falling 124-97 in Atlanta, 115-107 at Orlando and 126-120 in Miami.
Utah ended that losing sequence with a 127-115 win over Washington, only to then sandwich a 141-121 defeat in Denver with home losses to Chicago, 119-117, and Boston, 123-107.
The Jazz avoided a fourth straight loss as they beat Atlanta 124-122, but they again failed to build on a victory as they lost back-to-back home games against Minnesota, 119-100 and 114-104.
Dallas Mavericks Form
Dallas enter this matchup in good form, having won six of their last seven games and each of the last two.
The Mavericks endured a disappointing run of form in late February/early March as they lost five times in a six-game spell.
They snapped a three-game skid with a 114-108 victory over Miami, and they were able to build on that over the next few days.
Dallas beat Detroit 142-124 and Chicago 127-92 on the road, before returning home to take down Golden State, 109-99.
The Mavericks failed to make it five-in-a-row, losing 126-199 at Oklahoma City, but they hit back immediately by beating Denver 107-105 and San Antonio 113-107.
Verdict
Dallas are the better, healthier team in much better form, so we expect them to cover a large spread as they take this.
