Miami FL enter their first game of the campaign looking to live up to some big pre-season expectations.

The Hurricanes started fast but fell away during the 2023 season, but after some big offseason recruitment many experts are predicting they challenge for a College Football Playoff place.

That would be in stark contrast to last time around, when they started 0-4 but lost five of their final eight regular season games.

Miami FL’s highlights were a 48-33 victory over ranked Texas A&M and a 28-20 success against Clemson, while the low point was an infamous loss to Georgia Tech.

The Hurricanes wrapped up the campaign by taking part in the Pinstripe Bowl, where they lost 31-24 to Rutgers.

Florida come into the 2024 season looking to improve on a 5-7 campaign that saw them miss out on a Bowl Game.

The Gators dropped their season opener in 2023, but enjoyed a run of five wins in six games that propelled them into the rankings for a few weeks.

The highlight of that sequence was a 29-16 upset of #11 ranked Tennessee in the middle of September.

Florida’s last win during that sequence was a 41-39 victory at South Carolina, which was followed by five straight wins.

The Gators faced ranked teams in four of those games – a run that included a 43-20 defeat to #1 Georgia and a 24-15 loss to #5 Florida State.

The roster is stronger and they have upgraded considerably at quarterback, so we like the Hurricanes’ chances of silencing ‘The Swamp’.
