The Longhorns ended the regular season in positive fashion, while Michigan just fired their head coach amid yet another scandal for the programme.

Texas missed out on the college football playoffs as three defeats in 12 games proved to be costly.
The Longhorns entered the campaign as AP’s number one ranked team, but they lost 14-7 to defending champions Ohio State and then underwhelmed in three non-conference wins.
They opened their SEC slate with a 29-21 loss at Florida, only to rebound with four straight wins as they beat Oklahoma 23-6, Kentucky 16-13, Mississippi State 45-38 and Vanderbilt 34-31.
Texas’ playoff hopes suffered a fatal blow in mid-November though, as their four-game run was ended by a 34-10 loss to Georgia.
The Longhorns did at least end the regular season in positive fashion though, beating Arkansas 52-37 before upsetting Texas A&M 27-17.
Michigan Form
Michigan missed out on an appearance in the Big Ten Championship and a trip to the college football playoffs as they also lost three times in the regular season.
The Wolverines opened with three non-conference games, sandwiching a 24-13 defeat at Oklahoma with a couple of wins over small schools.
They made a solid start to the Big Ten campaign as they backed up a 30-27 win at Nebraska with a 24-10 victory over Wisconsin, but they suffered a setback a week later as they fell 31-13 at USC.
Michigan rebounded with a 24-7 win at Washington, and followed that up by downing Michigan State 31-20, Purdue 21-16, Northwestern 24-22 and Maryland 45-20.
The Wolverines were no match for Ohio State in the finale though, as they were beaten 27-9 at home by the Buckeyes.
Verdict
Texas failed to live up to pre-season expectations, but they did at least end the year in positive fashion.
The same cannot be said for Michigan, so we are backing the Longhorns to come out on top.
