The Bruins booked their place in the postseason by compiling a 47-20-15 record in the regular season, but entered the playoffs cold.
They were beaten in three of their final four games, losing 4-1 at home to Carolina, before failing to build on a 6-4 victory over Pittsburgh as they lost 2-0 to Washington and 3-1 to Ottawa.
Boston made a return to winning ways in their opening postseason game, as they cruised to a 5-1 win over Toronto in Game 1, but they failed to follow it up.
The Bruins blew two leads and gave up a late goal to Auston Matthews as they lost 3-2 to the Maple Leafs on Monday night.

Toronto lost 6-5 to New Jersey, 5-4 (OT) to Detroit, 5-2 to Florida and 6-4 to Tampa Bay as they closed out the regular season.
The Maple Leafs then lost their opening game of the playoffs, 5-1, but they showed resilience in the second meeting in Boston, as they snatched a 3-2 victory.

Toronto took the last game and have home advantage, but we are still riding with Boston.
The Bruins have won the last few meetings on the Maple Leafs' ice, and they head to Canada on a good run of form on the road.
