  • Edmonton Oilers are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings with Los Angeles
  • Edmonton have won each of their last 5 home games against LA by at least 2 goals
  • The Under cashed in 4 of the last 5 meetings

Head To Head

  • Edmonton Oilers won the regular season series 3-1
  • Edmonton Oilers lead this NHL Playoff series 1-0
  • Edmonton Oilers won 7-4 when the two teams last met on April 22

Los Angeles Kings Form

Los Angeles enter this game looking to level up the series before returning home for the next two meetings.

The Kings secured their place in the postseason by compiling a 44-27-11 record to finish third in the Pacific Division.

They ended the regular season in good form too, winning three of their final four games to take some momentum in the playoffs.

Los Angeles beat Calgary 4-1 and Anaheim 3-1, before rebounding from a 3-1 defeat to Minnesota with a 5-4 overtime win over Chicago.

However, the Kings were unable to make it back-to-back wins in their postseason opener, losing 7-4 in Edmonton on Monday night.

Edmonton Oilers Form

Edmonton come into Game 2 looking to strengthen their grip on the series ahead of back-to-back road games.

The Oilers put together a 49-27-6 record in the regular season to claim second place in the Pacific Division.

They ended the regular season on a low note though, losing four of their final five games to miss out on the division crown.

Edmonton lost 3-2 to Arizona in overtime and 3-1 in to Vancouver in regulation, before failing to build on a 9-2 blowout of San Jose as they were beaten 5-2 in Arizona and 5-1 at Colorado.

The Oilers put that behind them in their playoff opener though, beating Los Angeles 7-4 on Monday to draw first blood.

Verdict

Edmonton's track record against Los Angeles is simply too good to ignore, especially at home.

The Oilers have dominated the Kings over the past few seasons so we expect them to increase their series lead here.
