The Swedes are the much stronger outfit and Denmark were brought crashing back down to Earth by that 7-0 battering at the hands of Switzerland.

Sweden were forced to settle for a place in the third place playoff as they suffered a surprise defeat in the semi-finals.
The Swedes made light work of the group stage of the competition, winning each of their first six games to book a spot in the quarter-finals with a game to spare.
They beat Slovakia 5-0 and Austria 4-2, and then backed up a 2-1 victory over Finland with shutout successes against Latvia, 6-0, Slovenia, 4-0, and France, 4-0.
That rendered Sweden’s final group game against Canada a ‘dead rubber’ and they suffered their first defeat of the competition as they were beaten 5-3.
The Swedes immediately rebounded in the quarter-finals, knocking out defending champions, the Czech Republic, but they failed to back up that 5-2 victory as they lost 6-2 to the United States in the semis.
Denmark Form
Denmark will fight for third place at the World Championship after seeing their dream run come to an end in the semi-finals.
The Danes opened the tournament with a murderers row of opponents, so it was no surprise that they lost their first three games.
They lost 5-0 to the United States, 5-2 to Switzerland and 7-2 to the Czech Republic, before finally getting off the mark with a 5-1 win over Kazakhstan.
Denmark backed that up with an 8-2 win over Hungary and a 6-3 success against Norway, before clinching a quarter-final berth with a dramatic 2-1 win against Germany.
The Danes then sprang the shock of the tournament as they beat Canada 2-1 in the quarter-finals, but they were no match for Switzerland in the semi-finals as they were beaten 7-0.
Verdict
Sweden’s run came to a disappointing end in the semis, but they will want to deliver a positive ending for the home fans.
